Preheat the oven to 350°F and lightly grease a loaf pan.
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, onion, jalapeños, milk, ⅓ cup ketchup, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
Mix with your hands until the ingredients are evenly distributed but the meat is not overworked.
Transfer the mixture to the prepared loaf pan and press it into an even shape.
Spread the remaining 2 tablespoons of ketchup over the top of the loaf.
Bake for 55 to 60 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 160°F.
Remove from the oven and let the meatloaf rest in the pan for 10 minutes before slicing.
