In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped onion, breadcrumbs, eggs, milk, parsley, thyme, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix with your hands until the ingredients are evenly distributed but the meat is not overworked.
Transfer the mixture to the prepared loaf pan and press it into an even shape.
Spread the ketchup evenly over the top of the loaf.
Bake for 1 hour to 1 hour 10 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160 degrees F. Let the meatloaf rest in the pan for 10 minutes before slicing.
