Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and lightly grease a loaf pan.
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, onion, garlic, 1/2 cup tomato sauce, minced chipotle peppers, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Mix with your hands until evenly blended but not overworked.
Transfer the mixture to the prepared loaf pan and press it into an even shape.
Stir the remaining 1/4 cup tomato sauce with the ketchup and spread this mixture over the top of the meatloaf.
Bake for 55 to 60 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 160 degrees. Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
